Cindy & Steven
are tying the knot
Our Story
Chapter One: New Beginnings
It all started in 2015... The classic boy-meets-girl story, except there were two girls—twins, in fact! Cinds and Cands arrived on the sunny shores of Cape Town to scatter Mama Sharon's ashes with nothing but hope, a Kia Picanto, and a cat.
After a mourning moment on the beach, they decided to celebrate Sharon's life with a refreshing cocktail at Café Caprice.
Chapter Two: The Meeting
There stood the blue-eyed bartender, Steve. With his shirt tucked in and his hair long and wild, he more than welcomed the duo, inviting them for a long drink and a longer chat. A tiny spark ignited.
Eager to show his new friends around, Steve invited Cinds all over town, namely to an underground rap show, where bottomless pizza and R10 drinks were a delicacy that Steve was all too willing to show off! Still unaware of the spark that they shared, a walk to the car with a hug and a smile was all they did.
Chapter Three: Serendipitous Encounters
Many a year passed with the two bumping into each other like particles in a collider, each occasion bringing newfound light and excitement.
One night in early 2020, they met at his show. The spark, now noticeable, was drawing them close. "Come and see me again." "I'll do my best." And then there was Covid.
Chapter Four: Lockdown Love
A DM from Cindy? A FaceTime from Steve?! (Who does that anymore?)
"I hate these restrictions." "I'd love to get coffee." "Chardonnay Deli at 10?" "I'll see you there."
And there they met, day in and day out. Laughing, sharing, teasing, and talking. A friendship grew where it knew it belonged.
Chapter Five: Love Blossoms
Their love, only budding, was to end sharp and sudden as Cindy had planned to work abroad all along.
The thought was saddening, but they decided to explore this love regardless and would make a decision when the time came as to what they would do.
The love grew stronger, and the world made its decision. No flights would be taken, plenty of dates were had, and Cindy and Steve fell deeper in love.
THE END...ish. See you at the wedding!
